With over 20 years of combined experience in the treatment room as an acupuncturist and teacher, Colby uses traditional acupuncture, plant medicine, and words as fulcrums to promote healing and change.
Believing that our bodies are wise and symptoms are our teachers, Colby partners individual patients in the treatment room on their unique, individual specific paths to wellness. Colby works in collaboration with his patients as their practitioner, teacher, and mentor, helping them learn about their own bodies' wisdom.

Colby M. Christy
Colby received his Master of Acupuncture degree from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute, currently the Maryland University of Integrated Health (UMIH) where he started his studies and practice of Acupuncture and Eastern Philosophy in May 1994. Colby holds a National Board Certificate from the National Commission for Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, NCCAOM. He also is a NADA certified detox specialist, and has an Herbal Certificate from the Tai Sophia Institute, currently MUIH.
Raised in the Baltimore-Washington Corridor, Colby attended the University of Maryland, where he was awarded a Bachelor's of Science in Geomorphological Studies with an emphasis on physical, cultural, and economic geography. After graduating from UMCP, Colby spent several years traveling the country and the world experiencing the places, people, and cultures of his undergraduate studies. It was his time in Southeast Asia that exposed him to healing possibilities of traditional medicines and philosophies that would set him on his healing path.
After completion of his Masters degree in Acupuncture, Colby was granted an apprenticeship with long-time teacher and mentor, Robert M. Duggan, Co-founder and President of the Traditional Acupuncture Institute. Colby is a former Associate Faculty member of the Tai Sophia Institute where he taught for nearly a decade. He holds a South Carolina State License to practice Acupuncture, was formerly licensed to practiced acupuncture in Maryland from 1996 to 2005 until he relocated to Charleston, SC.
Colby has served the Charleston Area as a Master Acupuncturist since he relocated to the Low-Country with his 2 boys in the Spring of 2005.
